About Bésics™

Let’s face it - we could do a lot better in the packaging we produce.

Packaging is informative, convenient, improves product safety and consumer health. But the type of packaging is creating a problem for waste management and the long-term health of our environment.

Bésics™ compostables is a quality line of compostable food serviceware and packaging products for the North American retail Market. Bésics™ compostable products are produced with a goal of being 100% plant-based and 100% compostable.

To produce better products, Bésics™ starts at the beginning, working with producers to find better resins, pulps, adhesives, and other essential starting materials. As part of our Research and development programme, we work hard to understand sustainability in materials and how materials combine to produce the products that meet our Bésics™ standard. The Bésics™ goal is to have complete confidence in the environmental performance and consumer performance of the products we sell – a confidence that goes beyond certifications.

As part of our mandate for compostable product innovation, Bésics™ is developing research partnerships with major North American academic institutions to:
1) better understand the impact of compostable products on the environment,
2) improve compostable resins in manufacturing, and
3) identify new sources of compostable materials.
